nightstalkThis overnight excursion for the cadets was run for the first time in 2009 with the aim of participating in the TiWest Annual Night Stalk during the month of September.  Since 2009 this activity has been run a further 3 times as it sometimes clashes with other activities the unit has planned.

Leaving school at 4.00pm on a Thursday and heading to Yanchep National Park, where we will base ourselves at Gloucester House.  The priority on arrival is to setup camp and organise the evening meal.

Using Gloucester House as the base we divide the group into small teams and under the guidance of an Instructor different areas of the Park are patrolled in the search of wildlife.  There is no shortage of Kangaroos to be counted and plenty of Frogs can be heard and even the odd Owl is heard.

6.00am is wake up call and the focus is on packing up and firing up the BBQ for a feed of pancakes before the bus arrives at 7.30am to return the group to school and to regular Friday classes.

A few of the Kangaroos to be counted!!
