Cadets WA is a State Government initiated youth development program, aimed at creating exciting opportunities for young people of secondary school age. It commenced with a trial in 1996 that received positive reviews at the end of the year, and a follow up review in 1999 confirmed the value of the program.
Traditionally most people associate cadets with the Army, Navy and Air Force Cadets, with the 1996 initaive there are actually nine cadet types to choose from in Western Australia:
Being involved with Cadets WA is both challenging and rewarding. A chance to learn new skills, experience different types of physical activities and have some serious fun!
Depending on the type of cadet unit you join, your training can include activities such as rock climbing, fire fighting, scuba diving and bush survival - to name just a few.
